COMMUNITY DAY PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
Please remember that all activities must be approved by the committee.
Community Day is an annual event in which Community Groups dedicated their time and energy to create a fun-filled day for the community to attend and enjoy. Without the participation of the Community groups, there would be no Community Day. This paper is intended to provide some guidelines for you if your group plans to sponsor a table or activity at this year’s event..
EVENT SPONSOR
The event is sponsored by Bath-Richfield Kiwanis. The major role of the sponsor is to organize and manage the event and to provide financing for the event and to be able to continue holding the event in coming years. The work of the Kiwanis begins each April and ends the day after Community Day, when the grounds are cleaned and restored to use for the Village.
CONCESSIONS /NON PROFIT TABLES
Various food, merchandise, and entertainment concessions are sponsored each year by Richfield area or Revere School Groups. Civic, Church, School, and other groups provide activities for the Community to participate in. These concessions not only are essential to the success of the Community Day event, but also provide some profit to help their organizations.
Who is eligible to participate in Concessions? Any Richfield/Bath area non/profits or Revere School group or other local Schools can sponsor a table or event at Community Day. Stands whose purpose is solely to promote political or philosophicalo views is expressly prohibited.
One of the management functions provided by the Kiwanis is the organization and approval of the various Concessions. One of the major objectives of this process is to make sure that a sufficient variety of concessions exist that will provide a wide choice to those attending. One group will not be permitted to add food or other concessions to their list if that item is already approved for another group. As a general rule, if you group sponsored a food item last year, your group should get first choice to decide whether you want to sponsor that item again this year. After the initial group sign up for the items that they want to sell, the Kiwanis Community Day Committee will review the list to determine if more items are needed. Those items will be offered to participating groups to add to their list of offerings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of an organization’s agreement to participate in community day, it is also the understanding that the organization is responsible for all set-up and clean-up activities for your concession. Kiwanis will provide support to you, locate your table and access to electricity and/or water. It is expected that your group will fold up tables and chairs and pick up all trash and food containers to leave your area in a litter-free condition. It is also expected that the various groups will not offer concession for sale that they did not sign up for.
Community Day starts at 1:00 pm therefore all organizations must be set up and vehicles removed from area by 11:30am.
Due to the “second wave” of people coming for fireworks, we ask that you plan on keeping your booth open until at least 6:00pm or longer to meet the evening crowd. The longer the better for your group as well as the community.
Please note:
NO ORGANIZATION MAY HOLD ANY TYPE OF RAFFLE WITH IN THEIR TABLE. (this takes away from the Kiwanis Raffle which generates the money to continue future Community Days) There will be no exceptions for this rule.
SERVICE PROJECTS
One of the great Community Day traditions that is a part of all Community Days, is the Service Project concept. In order to prevent the Richfield Community Day from turning into a Carnival event, the various groups that sponsored concession tables also must provide a SERVICE PROJECT for the event. A few examples of these service projects can be face painting, kids games, a craft, a carnival game or a giveaway. It can be for children or adults. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE MUST FOLLOW COVID SAFETY RULES
If your group does not want to have a table, you may provide a Service Project for the community to participate in. If your Service Project is an activity that the people attending can view or participate in, the activity will be included on the Master Event Schedule for Community Day. All service projects must be approved by the Community Day Committee. A Service Project will not be performed if the safety of the participants or spectators are at risk. If your group can perform Entertainment, it must be something that represents your group.

Most important, the Bath richfield Kiwanis would like to “thank you” for your annual participation . Without YOU, there would be no Community Day. Putting the event together is a very large job. However, the great community Groups in Bath and Richfield have always helped the Kiwanis make community Day an event we all can be proud of.
